This week I’ve been helping with a renovation at my mom’s condo on Maui. Before the new flooring can go in, the concrete has to be leveled. It’s meticulous work that no one will ever notice—unless it isn’t done well.
Later today, I’ll be joining a popular podcast to talk about AI, and I found myself thinking about that same idea. AI may be today’s headline, but the organizations that benefit most won’t necessarily be the ones with the newest technology. They’ll be the ones with the strongest foundation: clear strategy, healthy culture, disciplined execution, and leaders who know how to bring out the best in their people.
Technology may change quickly. Foundations rarely do.
