I added an Innova Firebird to my disc golf collection this week.
It’s not a disc I’ll throw all the time. In fact, it’s designed for one very specific situation: throwing into the wind. Living in Maui, that’s not a small detail. After one too many rounds watching my shots get bullied by the trade winds, I decided it was time to stop asking the wrong disc to do the job.
It made me think about how often we fight the conditions we’re given instead of preparing for them. We spend energy wishing the wind would stop instead of simply using the right disc.
The wind wasn’t the problem. I just kept reaching for the wrong disc.
