A Great Way to Start Your Day

It’s the first workday of February, so I wanted to help you get an excellent start. In fact, I would like to help you get an excellent start every day by sharing with you what I do every day. When I wake up in the morning, the very first thing I do is meditate. On workdays, like today, I meditate for 10 minutes and on weekends I meditate for anywhere from 10 to 30 min., usually about 15.

According to recent neuroscience, if you want to maintain a healthy mind, you should meditate on a regular basis (see The Healthy Mind Platter (PDF)). A quick 10-minute meditation is not only a great way to start your day, but it’s also a terrific way to take a mental break during the day, close out the day, or set your mind in the right state to solve a difficult problem. On page 16 of “Grow Your Business UP!“, I use meditation as a way to help our CEO prepare to navigate a particularly thorny situation called a Scaling Dilemma.

I use my Peloton subscription for daily guided meditations, but if you aren’t interested in paying a fee, there are plenty ways to get a 10-min. guided meditation for free. Start meditating today, it will change your life!

If you have any questions, let me know. It would be great to hear from you.
